Antonio Vivaldi

Antonio Vivaldi was one of the foremost composers of the baroque era. Famed for his prolific output and skills as a virtuoso violinist, Vivaldi’s work was highly influential in shaping the work of composers who came after him, in particular Johan Sebastien Bach. Although his music was long ignored by music historians, at the beginning of the 20th century there was a great revival of interest in his work, and today his music is frequently heard, even outside of classical music spheres.
