Ciprian Porumbescu

Ciprian Porumbescu is one of Romania’s most celebrated composers. One of his works has been used as the national anthem for both Romania and Albania, and his choral and operatic works remain popular in Central and Eastern Europe. His Balada for violin and orchestra is his best-known piece, and makes reference to Romanian folk music tradition.
