Bottesini – Allegretto Capriccio ‘à la Chopin’

Bottesini’s Allegretto Capriccio takes as its inspiration the musical world of Chopin, and though the original manuscript does not contain a dedication to him, there are a number of features in this piece which indicate the strong influence he had on Bottesini. This work is one of Bottesini’s more elegant works, with well thought-out thematic ideas which occur throughout. In this new edition of the piece by Bogusław Furtok, Bottesini’s music is supplemented by suggested fingerings and bowings for the performer. Piano accompaniment parts are also available in solo and orchestral tuning.
