Originally written for violin and piano, Lili Boulanger’s Cortège (meaning a march or procession) was first published in 1914. This delightful short work is a show of virtuosity, with a gracious melody that sits well on the double bass. In this new edition by Alessandra Avico, there are a number of bowing and fingering suggestions to aid the performer, with piano accompaniment parts available in both orchestral and solo tuning.
