Koussevitzky’s Double Bass Concerto is a staple of the double bass repertoire, and for good reason. Showing off the operatic qualities of the instrument at times, and its quiet expressivity at others, this work really takes the player through their paces and allows them to show off. This new edition by Scott Pingel includes a number of adjustments to the original piano part to aid playability and fix prior errors, and includes suggestions of fingerings and bowings for the performer. The piano part is available for both orchestral and solo tuning.
