Puccini – Madama Butterfly

Part of our Short Vocal Work Collection, Coro A Bocca Chiusa (Humming Chorus) is the transitional piece between acts two and three of the opera Madama Butterfly. Here, Butterfly silently waits for Pinkerton to arrive as the night draws in, only to be emotionally shattered when he arrives with his new wife. In this rendition, the beautiful, wordless melody of the chorus has been simplified and skilfully arranged by Valentina Ciardelli for double bass and piano, in both solo and orchestral tuning, at an intermediate level from her Virtuoso opera fantasies. www.valentinaciardelli.com
