Benedetto Marcello

1686-1739

Benedetto Marcello was born to a noble family in Venice. Though a talented musician from a young age, his father pushed him to pursue a career in law. Despite this, he managed to continue composing, even after becoming a district governor. He wrote a large number of vocal and instrumental works, many showing the influence of Vivaldi.
